About

My name is Lindsay Smart.  I am the mother of two beautiful children.  My son was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in March of 2012.  We weren’t given much hope from doctors and we were only given one option for treatment.  I made this blog to help educate other parents searching for alternative treatment options for DMD.  I will discuss the VECTTOR as well as the Youngevity supplements my son is taking. There are other options out there besides steroids or waiting for a cure. Become proactive, starting with your child’s diet. Anyone that says nutrition and supplementation are not important with chronic disease is LYING. I hope you find what you are looking for in this blog.

  1. Hi Lindsey, I am new to researching DMD. A family member’s son was diagnosed and their daughter’s levels were high as well. I am looking into ways to help them.

Our daughter had been diagnosed with JDM, a rare autoimmune disease. She is now disease free and healed. I had prayed and GOD helped me to research what to do for her. She never had any medications. It is an amazing journey to go through with a child, to see them go through so much but then overcome. I am praying that your son will continue to overcome as well!! 🙂

How is your son doing now? We used some different things for our daughter. Our diet was similar to the WAPF diet(meaning what we ate not a weight loss type of diet). 🙂 She had issues with her skin, muscle atrophy, rheumatoid arthritis, etc. We used fermented cod liver oil(Green Pasture), fermented veggies, fermented dairy, whole food based vitamins, pastured meats, extra probiotics, vit D3, etc.

My questions are have you tried anything of these things with your son? And if so, what was the outcome?

Thank so much for the information you are providing to the world that there can be other ways that are better for our children!
    blessings,

    • Annette, sorry it took me so long to respond. I forget that this is here, and I really need to update it more often. I’ll be better about that. Thanks for commenting on my blog, I’m glad to here that your daughter got better and I am glad it was done in a natural approach. My son is doing well. He is still declining from the DMD but I believe it we weren’t doing the treatments that we are he wouldn’t be walking at all. His regimen or supplements is: Selenium, Vitamin E, Buffalo Liver (range fed, freeze dried) liquid calcium magnesium, black cherry juice, probiotic and essential electrolytes. He is doing good. He does use a couple of the things you had mentioned and teamed with these other supplements he is taking, he seems to be doing well with the regimen. He’s been doing the diet and supplements since around June of 2013 and the Vecttor since June of 2012. Thanks again for the comment and I wish you guys the best of luck. If you want anymore info on Levi’s regimen, just let me know.
